The company FastGrapes

FastGrapes is a private breeding company founded in 2021 by Torben Bo Toldam-Andersen, who has worked with research and development of fruit breeding for 30 years at the University of Copenhagen.

Breeding work takes place in collaboration with the German researchers under Dr. Oliver Trapp at the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) in Siebeldingen.

The work is supported by the private foundation "Foreningen PlanDanmark".

The vineyard on Funen

Torben is co-owner of Vrangbækgaard Vin, which he runs together with his two brothers Ejgil and Johannes. Here is the primary test planting with all the selected grape varieties.

Torben also has 2 plants of all the selections at home in his private garden, so that he can follow their development on a daily basis.
